Captain's Log ~ Supplemental

National Sons Day & National Marching Band Day

is tomorrow--March 4th!

Celebrate your son on Saturday if you have one! Give him a call, send a text or an email...maybe FaceTime or Zoom...

Look at us there-- Look how chubby I was-- Look how young Sonshine was--

Another reason I chose that picture is because Saturday the 4th is also Marching Band Day.

And if you've been around these here parts for any length of time, you know that Sonshine was in the marching band at his high school.

Without further ado, let's celebrate two birds with one stone, er, post!

Love you, Bubba!

And you, dear reader, have a good weekend...

Special Birthday Edition...

I missed yesterday, but maybe I was meant to, because twenty-five years ago today, the most beautiful being came into my life. I have loved this kid whole-heartedly and un-waveringly ever since.

He's far away from me right now and I won't get to see him for a while longer except via technology and I sure do miss him.

Happy birthday, Timothy Lynn--I love you to Pluto and back...

Congratulations, Sonshine!

Just sharing some images from Recruit Training Command Graduation, December 5, 2014...

Tim's division during Pass & Review.

Tim and I played a bit of peek a boo... If he saw me lean left to look at him, he fought his own smile. He's there, just to the left of the guy in the foreground.

He also earned sharpshooter during weapons training.

In addition to spending his post-graduation liberty with him on Friday, we were at the airport at the same time (for a bit) on Saturday morning and got to spend another hour or so with him.

Too many goodbyes in a short amount of time, but with any luck, we'll be saying hello again shortly before Christmas. And now that he's out of boot camp, he can have a cell phone again, so I can reach out with a text at any time.
