Follow Me Again...?

The application I was using for y'all to receive the blog directly is disabling that feature in July...

Soooo...if you're still so inclined to get my my blog in your email, then I've researched other options and implemented the most highly recommended one.

You can subscribe there to the right in the box with the green outline. What that means is that you'll get notified twice for maybe two weeks and then I'll delete the other one and remove all y'all's email addresses from the original. (May 4th--I'll delete)

And if you no longer want to hear from me, that's fine too. I get it. :0) I'm not terribly exciting and have a bit of a three-track mind.

Speaking of tracks...one of them is hockey (well, DUH, Jen) and the boys have a four-game win streak going... They're not locked into a playoff spot just yet, but they're tied with the fifth place team and a point behind the fourth place team and we won't have anything in the bag until probably the very last game or two with two and a half weeks until then.

Good thing I no longer bite my nails. ;0)

Hope your week is going well...and, you know...

Well, what do you think...?

...about the new blog theme?

I'm trying to polish my image a little bit and so here we are. :0)

A few more tweaks might be needed, but we'll get there.

I finally finished one of the hockey samplers I'd been working on for forever and now it's finally listed on my Etsy shop, much to my pleasure. That inspired me to poke around the pattern archives and see what else I have in progress and what needs doing.

So, in my spare time, I've been working on additional hockey jerseys, mostly for teams that don't even have one listed for sale at this point. But also planning what the next project to stitch and list will be. Actually, I do have another project that's in some percentage of progress. I just need to dig it out and work on it now.

Fireworks season was a literal sell out across the region. And I don't ever use that word lightly, as you well know. We were the last store standing for miles and miles and had a line that wrapped around the building for hours. We had product to sell, but because we were so busy without ANY lulls--and I'm not kidding here--the best we could do was open a box of something and put the box with its side cut off on the shelf. Were we out of some stuff? Yes.

Sparklers? Gone. Roman candles? Gone. Assortment packs, from the $10 variety to the $300 variety? ALL GONE.

The season really was the perfect storm, but I think it put us on the metaphorical map. We had product all the way until the end--which has always been a point of pride for DH.

I don't know how long the wait was from the time a customer arrived until the time they left--as I said, line around the building--but surely no one will hold that against us... We couldn't have fit any more salespeople behind the counter and all I did was take people's money. Thank goodness. I'm not a fan of dealing with customers directly.

But we survived to tell the tale and earned a tidy profit to finally repair a few things around the place. :0)

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Take care and stay safe.

I can't blog on the fly anymore...

Used to be I could sit down at my desk on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and take thirty minutes to an hour to pour my random or inane thoughts into the blog.

No so much anymore. :) While I do still have a lot of free time in my day--it's not first thing in the morning.

I'm going to have to spend some time planning some topics I'd be interested in researching and writing about.

Today, however, is not that day. It's Monday; it's the 1st of the month; I'm running a contest for my writing group that I have to work on; it's renewal month for my writing group--as treasurer; I have to process those; I signed up for a week-long writing class that starts today; and not last or least, I somehow ended up signing up for a month-long writer's boot camp.

As you can see, I've got a lot on my plate today, this week, this month.

I don't mind busy, I just might need to plan ahead a little better. :)

Have a great week!
