Of a Sunday Afternoon

The squirrels provide no end of amusement... Check out the critter lying in the picnic table--feet dangling over the edge. And the other one just sitting in the bowl snacking leisurely.

In other exciting news, our Dallas Stars won their game yesterday--a game they desperately needed to win. It was back and forth with the score throughout the who game. A nail-biting, barn burner for sixty minutes plus of game play!

Also, the heatwave has been slightly broken. It'll only be 93* today instead of 103*!! I'll take it.

Hope you had a great weekend...

It's been a week...

And it's been a week...

Work has been crazy busy and needed all hands on deck, so I haven't had much opportunity to do more than my job.

But here it is Friday again and yet again, what a relief. I guess it's time to catch up a little.

Easter was uneventful as it has been since the kids all grew up and moved out. I did buy one small goody each for DH and DD and that was the extent of things.

The weather has been up and down and we've had late cold snaps--which is nothing to complain about really considering my family in Colorado and Nebraska both got snowed on. I am, however, definitely ready for the super cold to get lost.

The food logging continues to pay off. The weight loss has slowed, but is still happening. I have about four pounds to reach my target. I also began my targeted workout routines. My abs, arms, and glutes are getting their workout and have been making their presences known the following day. The glutes routine might need some tuning as it's the top of my thighs complaining, not my behind.

As I was writing this, DD called to say our local WalMart had 4-pack of toilet paper again, so yay. Not that we need it with the two 12-packs we've bought in the last couple weeks, but it's nice that some things appear to be getting back to normal.

Speaking of getting back to normal, our governor will be announcing his plan to re-open business across the state. Texas has been lucky, although we still need to exercise caution so as not to trigger a second wave.

Digging into the photo archives last week was fun, so let's do it again...

I miss Friday Night Lights with Sonshine.

DD and I need to make another trip to the zoo--once things are reopened.

Ah, that my backyard still looked so neat and tidy.
I had to give up feeding the birds at some point, but the bird bath is still there.
The bed itself is all overgrown however.

Have a great weekend and stay safe.

*well* That doesn't happen very often...

A hours-long weather event passed through the North Texas corridor and across the Metroplex Friday night.

And while that isn't unusual in and of itself--the fact that our house was smack dab in the middle of one the tornado warning areas definitely was. We fall into plenty of watches, of course, but usually, the warning areas are just to the north or just to the south of us--not surrounding us. That was a little disconcerting, I must say. Luckily the storm was pretty fast moving and we were out of the "danger zone" fairly quickly. Or should I say, the danger zone moved away from us. :0)

And then early-ish Saturday morning, we had about 10-15 minutes of snow. Nothing stuck, of course, because we're still too warm in general, but it was cool to watch while it lasted.

And then the weekend got up to sixty-ish degrees both days. Go figure.

Anyway...got lots to do this week to be gone Thursday and Friday...

Have a great week.

Someone paid good money for that??

I'm talking about commercials. For any of us who watch television, commercials are inevitable. Most of them are fine. I have no problem with the pitch. I use that time to do chores or run to the restroom or brush my teeth or whatever.

There are two commercials in my locale, one that I can't believe someone agreed to pay money for and one that makes me laugh every time because of the exaggerated truth of it.

The hated commercial is, I think, a tax-filing product of service. I can't remember and sure don't care. :0) It has various iterations; a game show and a courtroom, that I can recall off the top of my head, but all the people in commercial say is FREE in various inflections and tones.

SO STINKIN' STUPID.

But...

The one I love is a commercial for TXU Energy, a local electricity provider. This is a very abbreviated version, but you get the gist.

It cracks me up every time.

Do you have a favorite or a hated commercial?? Please share. :0)
